I remember watching the first episode of Joshikosei GIRLS HIGH and thinking it was totally lame. But also thinking it was kind of funny. I never continued watching the anime, but I did get a crapload of the manga to review!

Yesterday I reviewed the Shakugan no Shana DVD. Today I’m reviewing the Shakugan no Shana manga! It’s all part of a series I like to call: Shanathon! Or not.
Way back when my blog was first starting, Shakugan no Shana was my first anime impressions post. Whoa! Today I’m reviewing the first DVD of Shakugan no Shana. It’s pretty crazy seeing how far Basugasubakuhatsu’s come since then.
Originally, I took a look at the trailer for Afro Samurai and wrote it off as some lame ripoff masquerading as anime. Plus I didn’t have Spike TV, so I couldn’t just watch it on cable. I finally got the DVD, and had a chance to give the DVD a fair review. So how’d it turn out?
I just noticed that each cover of Nodame Cantabile has Nodame playing a different instrument. Volume 4 has her playing a flute. I don’t think it suits her, though. She should stick to weird instruments like the vibraslap and the theremin. She’ll probably start pulling out the obscure instruments once the manga hits volume 40 or so…
Here’s a zen question: When is a trap not a trap? Perhaps when the trap switches their sex magically by night? Such is the case in Kedamono Damono, a yuri manga that I just recently came across.
Next up on the review block is Le Chevalier d’Eon, the anime about that French crossdressing spy whose name I can’t pronounce!

Typically, a cipher is a way to encrypt information for security purposes. My favorite is the Caesar Cipher, since it’s so easy to break. But in the context of manga, Cipher is actually this dude who gets yaoi with his twin brother… I prefer the former…
