Galaxy Angel Volume 4 finally makes some progress in the relationship department by featuring a kiss! But it’s one of those anime “oops!” kisses. There’s also a lot of emo love tension between the angel-tai. Who will Takuto end up with?
Year: 2007
Rizelmine was one of my most favorite anime ever. I watched it a really long time ago, probably around when I was only starting to get into anime. I was totally surprised to see that the manga was licensed in America by Tokyopop, as the subject matter seemed very un-American. Not that there’s anything wrong with that…
It’s no secret that my favorite anime are usually the insane gag type. Like Jungle wa Itsumo Hare Nochi Guu or Excel Saga or Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo. I just finished watching Animation Runner Kuromi, which sorta falls into that category. It was directed by Akitaro Daichi, who did Gag Manga Biyori and Jubei-chan. He also did Sexy Commando!!! So it should freaking awesome, right?
The single for Nodame Cantabile anime ED song, Konna ni Chikaku de, is out! I really enjoyed watching the PV, and before this single came out I was forced to play the PV to listen to it.
Right now I have the titular song, Konna ni Chikaku de running on infinite repeat. It’s really freaking good! Plus Crystal Kay is pretty cute. Apparently she’s bilingual in English and Japanese, though she’s actually African American/Korean. Which means her English lines in her songs turn out pretty smooth and not Engrishy.
I tried writing down all the lyrics and translating them to improve my Japanese listening and translating skills. For lyrics I wasn’t sure about, I got help from either Memento’s post or this other one. The translation itself was totally done by me though. I don’t know if that’s something to brag about…
American Anime Awards Results
So on Saturday, they had the First Annual American Anime Awards at the New York Comic con. I was actually streaming the show for a while, but I lost interest fairly quickly. I only checked back again to find the results today. Here they are:
So the next episode of The Adventures of the ASOS Brigade has come out! For some reason this one is number 005. So they’re skipping around like the original Haruhi anime? Great… In this episode, Haruhi gets a tip about a secret alien base. She, Mikuru and Yuki go to Area 42.
They stalk around and find a real life alien closet! The closet is some kind of clothes changing one. So Yuki gets the witch costume and Mikuru gets the bunny suit from Asahina Mikuru no Bouken. Would it have killed them to get Patricia Ja Lee in a bunny suit? Seriously, that’s how you sell dvds!
I just saw this via Anime News Network.
Apparently Dark Horse has licensed the Light Novel of Oh! My Goddess titled “First End.” But the Oh! My Goddess manga (and subsequent anime) was never based on a light novel. This novel came afterwards, and was written by the seiyuu for Urd, Touma Yumi.
So I guess the requirements for being a novelist in Japan are mad voice acting skills… Seems pretty weird if you ask me. Shouldn’t Oh! My Goddess be a popular enough series that an actual writer writes the novel? I guess I shouldn’t knock it until I read it myself, though.
All in all, it reconfirms my thoughts about light novels in general. 2007 is their breakout year!
