Ah, Galaxy Angel. That one really long series that I’ve been taking literally forever to finish. Just one more beta volume after this, and I’ll be done! What’s that? There’s a Galaxy Angel II? Uguu~~

Ah, Galaxy Angel. That one really long series that I’ve been taking literally forever to finish. Just one more beta volume after this, and I’ll be done! What’s that? There’s a Galaxy Angel II? Uguu~~

Story:
So in this volume, Chitose gets some memory back. The bad news: the memory is that she’s programmed to kidnap Prince Shiva! During her time with the Angel Squad, however, she’s developed feelings for Takuto. And who hasn’t!? Well, me for starters.

Instead of kidnapping Prince Shiva, Chitose goes and captures Takuto instead! Chitose steals a newly found Angel frame and heads for the Black Moon! Or is it the White Moon? Whichever moon is the bad guys’ one.

Analysis:
Volume 2 of Beta is just more of your standard GA fare. Some cuteness here, some tragedy there, y’know, the usual. There’s one part that’s really poignant where all the girls take a picture together, though Takuto isn’t there because he’s “picking some flowers.” Then someone says they regretted never being able to take a picture with Takuto ever again! NOESSS! Who is it!? Man, foreshadowing sure is stressful.

One of the nice things about this volume is that things actually happen. Well, stuff happens in all the volumes (or it wouldn’t be much of a book) but the plot moves forward! It’s not just Milfeulle baking weird cakes! Though that happens too. This is not unexpected, since the next volume is the last, but hey, after volumes and volumes of cooking filler, it’s nice to see things move along.

Also, one pet peeve that I’ve noticed about the Galaxy Angel series. They don’t use contractions! It’s totally strange. Like they’ll say “it is of no use” rather than “it’s of no use.” Sure, it makes them sound more pretentious I guess, but it’s also really weird to read.

Conclusion:
Galaxy Angel Beta is almost over! It’s been a strange, long trip, but I’m looking forward to seeing what the heck actually happens at the end. If you’ve gone this far, why stop now, right?

Many thanks to Broccoli Books for sending me a review copy of Galaxy Angel Beta Volume 2!
