I'm no anime snob; I LOVED the original <i>Ikkitousen</i>, for example, and I actually enjoyed the entire <i>Crescent Love</i> series. But <i>009-1</i> was worthwhile for me for only one reason: it went beyond mere bad, blew past <b>BAD</b>, and landed squarely in the fantastic place called <b><i>FUN BAD</b></i>... the land of <i>MST3K</i>-grade movies and the Chicago Cubs (disclaimer: I'm a Cubs fan). It did end up being the reason for one of my favorite posts at The Pond, though... so it's got that going for it, but that's about all I think it has going for it. Fo’ real. It did end up being the reason for one of my favorite posts at The Pond, though… so it’s got that going for it, but that’s about all I think it has going for it.
