I'll not give away any secrets -- but will say that vol. 8 is one of the best so far. Both Nodame and Chiaki have major accomplishments. ;~} I really have found this series fascinating -- ever since getting the unsubbed first volume -- ages and ages ago. It took quite a while to work my way through this, dictionaries by my side. (Because of the multilingual nature of this manga, the published translations are a bit problematic -- but they try to make up for any loss of information through their translation notes). At long last, I managed to finally track down volume 8 of the translated version, just as volume 9 (theoretically) was released.
