Story:
In this volume, Light has to convince the peeping L that he’s not Kira. Since the house is full of surveillance cameras, Light has to figure out how to kill people using the Death Note, and avoid looking suspicious. When he accomplishes that, the cameras go and Ryuk is free to eat apples again!

But what the heck!? Some sleep-deprived dude comes up to Light at the school opening ceremony and tells him that he is L! Some Prince of Tennis action later, they become good “friends.” Unfortunately, L still thinks that Light is Kira.

The volume ends with a new character being introduced. It’s Misa-Misa! She also happens to have in her possession a Death Note of her own. Double the Death Notes, double the fun! Will Light have to kill her, or will he use her, then kill her?

Analysis:
Volume 3 continues with an even stronger story than the previous two. We get to learn more about L and how his thought process works. I really love how L and Light are both pitted against each other in a crazy battle of wits. For the most part, all of the actual logic makes sense, and I didn’t really see any holes in either of their reasoning.

This volume also makes me like L better than Light now. Before, Light was pretty cool, but now L is awesome in my book. I might even go as far to say that I’m gar for L. He’s totally gonna get diabetes though, which is not cool. On the flip side, Light is still a jerk. Like he even told his heart attack dad that he’d catch Kira no matter what. Even though he’s Kira! USO DA!!!

Conclusion:
Death Note Volume 3 is yet another awesome addition to the story. It really keeps getting better and better. Hopefully the introduction of Misa won’t make Death Note jump the shark.

Many thanks to Viz Media for sending me a review copy of Death Note Volume 3!

L is cool. Light is a dick who becomes corrupt, killing not only criminals but people in his way like Raye Penbar and his fiance.

But L is HOTT
(And I’m a girl)

nooooooooooooooo! i totally disagree!!! Light must win, i can say as an officail addict and fan of both the anime (episode 22) and manga that as kl as Ryuzaki (L) is he doesnt beat Light *GO LIGHT!* (punches air) misa-misa is amaizing too but light has to beat them all. if you are not following the anime you so shud! we are currently on episode 22, in the UK it comes out every wednesday or thursday depending on how fast it is fan-subbed. if you are not reading/watching this series yet you are SERIOUSLY MISSING OUT!!! ^_^

I hate L becuase he is supposedly a genius, I want to be like him but with all my luck I’ll be lucky to achieve his level of intellect by the time I’m dead so….

GO LIGHT!!! KILL L!!! GO MISA!!!!

what I really hate is N winning, he makes me so mad. He is even more of a natural genius than light or L. he is like light on brain steroids.(I know light is smarter, but, he is not labeled ‘genius’)so….

Light should have WON!!!!!! ‘Miracles’ like L should D.I.E.!!!

L is my man and no one elses! i mean cmon, hes mysterious, sexy, intellegent, and original. How could you bastards want L to die? Light is cute but annoying and causes everyone problems.

well i hope its known that L does win in the end. He sets lights defeat up and lets Near take over and carry out the plan. It helps that Near is almost as amazing as L is, but it was L who won in the end, by lights death. Just came through in the end, therefore, making L the winner.
Besides Light is just a little punk who let power go to his head. He shows everyone he isnt fit to be any form of a “god” he cant even unblur the line of those evil and those who are trying to stop the true evil (kira/light).
L wins… the end.

what a dumb ass!! KIRA just such as shit evil….
hahahahaha light u`re lost against Near….
KIRA IS MOROn!!!!!!!! L i love him,,,,he looks sweet,,Intellegent,,and i wanna to kiss him,,,light sucks face… 😛 go to hell with ur note…

It was, of course, a pity to me L but if he has not died, the ending would not be such impressionable. When Vatari has died, I have understood at once that will die and L. Because they are closely connected. You would present to yourselves L without Vatari? No. Lajta was a pity also. He has gradually gone mad (((… The Worthy end for worthy аниме and characters! I heard, there is 2 part of the Writing-book of Death. Other writing-book! It would be desirable to esteem….
П.с. Очень-очень жаль
p.s. It is very-very a pity

I apologise for the English ignorance, some words are incorrectly translated. =)) wished to tell Death Note, and there was a Death Book

I love L!!!!!! Light is so messed up he had a good goal in the beginning but then he took it further and got carried away, and turned into a person he should have killed himself!! Misa is NOT one of my favorites, but she’s ok. L is my hero!

omg L is so hot damn i wish he was real but if he was then his house will be packed by screaming fangirls and/or boys
