Galaxy Angel Volume 4 finally makes some progress in the relationship department by featuring a kiss! But it’s one of those anime “oops!” kisses. There’s also a lot of emo love tension between the angel-tai. Who will Takuto end up with?

Story:
The volume starts off with Milfuelle hearing about Takuto and Mint’s embrace form the last volume. This already irks her. But then she stumbles upon Takuto and Ranpha making out! Actually, Takuto hit his head and it was an accidental kiss. But this is enough to make Milfeulle go berserk.

She starts avoiding Takuto, and remains in her state of confusion about how she feels. This is bad, because the Eonia forces (yeah, remember them?) are attacking! Milfeulle can’t control her ship, and Ranpha is probably also a little confused as well. They end up being saved only because of the backup fleet.

Takuto manages to somewhat patch things up, but not really. They’re once again surprise attacked by some black moon thing, and now the Goddess is telling them they need to visit the white moon. Okay…

Analysis:
I really liked the developments in this volume. The manga is turning into more of a harem comedy/drama than anything else, but I think I prefer that anyway. I wonder why Takuto made any moves on Vanilla or Forte yet. Besides the fact that Forte looks like a dude. Milfeulle looks to be the favorite in the competition, with Ranpha a close second.

There’s also some confusing stuff about the moon goddess and prince Shiva and blah blah blah. I don’t see why they think that Galaxy Angel needs a plot. The anime certainly didn’t have one, and it was awesome. For all I care they could just have picnics all the time and it’d still be just as good of a manga. I just see the plot getting in the way of the character development.

Conclusion:
There was a lot of advancements being made in the whole relationship status in this volume, which I liked. Milfeulle is really cute when she’s all emo. Hopefully Takuto will finally choose someone in the upcoming final volume. Or maybe in Beta. Or maybe in Galaxy Angel II…

Many thanks to Broccoli Books for sending me a review copy of Galaxy Angel Volume 4!
