Hello… nice lyrics… good work (to ya all). ^^ I’m beginning to really like Crystal Kay now–and the first time I’ve hear one of her songs was with Motherland, FullMetal Alchemist ending. She really has such a nice voice…

Now…If you don’t mind, I’ve kinda gathered of the translated versions here, in one of my own–though my Japanese it’s not that good…but this is mostly a compilation people here posted, anyway.

Again, hope you don’t mind–if I offended anyone because of this, I apologize beforehand.

yes it was a very good song,the opening music is like a classic song

this song “konna ni chikaku de…”(being this close…)was the very first crystal kay song i’ve heard

at first hearing it i only loving it for it melody but after many2 repeat i starting to feel the lyrics

i thinking maybe this was a song for unrequited love and i never search for the actual meaning of the lyric

but one day i fell in love with a girl and i could only look at her without saying my true feeling and when i must part with her i shaking her hands and saying thank you for helping me and goodbye without telling my feeling for her and asking if i could contact her again

and after that i somehow remember this song and sing it

at home i search the meaning of this song and somehow i feeling at ease

I just wanted to mention, if you did want to hear a full English song of hers, I’d reccommend ‘Kirakuni’. Such a nice song.

My japanese is not all that good either, but from listening to the song and reading Memento’s lyrics, I was wondering about a few lines…

“Just like this, I look at you from up close”

Because of the “temo” at the back of the first line, it should be something like “Even though I (can) look at you from up close”

“It was a dull night the moment you said it
The tears that reached the tip of my neck were the reason I couldn’t sleep. (!?)
Right now I’m always lying to my most precious person”

I think it should be something like,
“The moment you told me that I was looking down
With a yawn to hide my tears, I said I did not have enough sleep.
The me now who piles lies on the person I care most about,”

“It’d be nice to confess and love you
Is it impossible to go back to our smiling faces?
Although remaining as friends and not confessing might be better than love
Because I’m not able to do it anyway”

I thought this would be something like this instead,
“If I confessed that I love you
We/I probably would not be able to revert to a smiling face

hey saphira2005, yeah, I looked at a few of your transcribed lyrics for the parts I couldn’t understand at all but a few of mine are different. Like I’m pretty sure she says “kamoshirenai” at one point. But I could be wrong. I thought she was saying “odoru” but “modoru” makes more sense at some points.

I haven’t really heard much of Crystal Kay yet. First time was this song at the end of Nodame.

I love Crystal Kay too! I have a blog only about her! BTW it was from there that you got some “help”. But I can’t guarantee that my kanji lyrics is right.
Crystal really speaks english fluently, and is much more beautiful than Amerie. Have you ever heard Crystal singing an english only song?

I love Crystal Kay. Her father comes from my area of the world. He’s a bassist from NJ, USA. Her mom is a zainichi. So her great grandparents on her mother’s side came to Japan from Korea and stayed. Crystal Kay is compared to Hikaru Utada ( who also comes from my area, NYC to be exact.) because she uses English in her songs and can speak it fluently. But I don’t think they’re much alike. Utada grew up in the US, but Kay grew up in Japan with a lot culture thrown in the mix. Wiki said she’s been compared to Amerie (US Hip-hop star) in the looks department, but I think Kay is much more talented.
